Sarah Ma has been associated with Byron Writers Festival for over ten years, first through her work as a travel and ticketing agent. Since 2008 she has worked as the Festival Operations Manager. In this role, Sarah manages the organisation’s operations and is a member of the Festival programming committee. In particular, Sarah coordinates the comprehensive Festival workshop program and oversees the Festival site. Other key duties include website management, membership and financial administration and general office management.  Sarah edited the Festival’s bi-monthly magazine, northerly, for four years and has been integral in building the Festival’s database.

The deep and abiding respect she has for writers and for the emerging practitioners of the Northern Rivers region is testament to her total immersion in the world of books. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts, First Class Honours (multi-media) and Travel & Ticketing Diploma (Hayton College). Before settling in Byron, Sarah enjoyed a diverse career that took her to exotic and sophisticated locations.
