Vayu Naidu: The Science and Soul of Storytelling – performance narrative
Dr.Vayu Naidu gets you to grapple with folk tales and epics to unlock your 21st century voice. RASA is a technique honed for writers and performers seeking to be effective communicators and artists. Bring a story to life!
The science of story has active ingredients: plot, character, structure. It is in telling a story out loud that Dr. Vayu Naidu has developed and trained individuals and ensemble in a unique method: RASA. It combines emotive intelligence with image, sound and colour. She will take you through pace, gesture, and music of language, virtually and literally a method that works effectively in writing fiction.
In this workshop, Vayu works with participants to look at a folk tale or fragment of an epic of their choice. By actively developing RASA within the workshop, participants will learn:
What makes a story relevant
How to develop character and interaction
Why changes are necessary in writing.
This workshop is for performers and writers and enthusiastic generalists.
Note: Please bring a folk tale or extract of an epic that has inspired or baffled you. Be prepared to listen and participate in pairs and groups. At the end of the workshop, there will be a sharing. This is a vital part of the experience and its benefit.
