Terms & Conditions for Byron Writers Festival membership drive competitions
Information on how to enter and prizes form a part of the Conditions of Entry. Entry into this competition deems acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.
Who can enter: Entry is open to: a. Individuals who join and become a member of Byron Writers Festival (new members) b. ‘Join’ is defined as paying an annual fee to become a member of Byron Writers Festival either on the Byron Writers Festival website, by phone, or by completing and mailing a membership form.
How to enter: Enter by becoming a member of Byron Writers Festival
Byron Writers Festival reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Byron Writers Festival will not be liable for responses received or any other consequences of user error. Any entries submitted after the promotion period has closed will not be included in the promotion.
When to enter: The competition commences on 1/02/2018 at 09:00 AEST and closes on 28/02/2017 at 17:00 AEDST.
The winners of weekly prizes will be randomly drawn at the Byron Writers Festival offices at Level 1, 28 Jonson Street Byron Bay, NSW 2481 on each Wednesday for four weks beginning on Wednesday 7 February 2018 and continuing until Wednesday 28 February 2017 at 12:00 AEDST. The winner of the Major prize will be randomly drawn at the Byron Writers Festival offices at Level 1, 28 Jonson Street Byron Bay, NSW 2481 on Thursday 1 March 2018 at 12:00 AEDST.
Four weekly prizes as follows:
Writers Prize – value $223.95
Foodie Prize – value $239.99
Reader’s Prize – value $140, The Saturday Paper subscription – value $109
Botanical Prize – value $121
Major Prize – Two x Three Day passes to the 2018 Byron Writers Festival, 2 x invitations to Opening Night event and 2 x tickets to a Feature Event, value $650
Byron Writers Festival may select additional entries to be used as replacements in the event that the first entrant chosen as a winner cannot satisfy the Conditions of Entry or accept the prize.
The winners will be notified by email and telephone and will be published on Byron Writers Festival’s website (http://byronwritersfestival.com/).
Prizes are to be claimed at the Byron Writers Festival offices by email.
If Byron Writers Festival is unable to contact the winner to claim fulfilment of the promotional prize, the winner will forfeit the prize in its entirety and it shall be awarded to the next random entry. Byron Writers Festival will not be liable for a winner who cannot be contacted and therefore forfeits their prize and no correspondence will be entered into.
Further conditions of entry: Byron Writers Festival reserves the right to amend these Conditions of Entry if this competition cannot be run as originally planned. Byron Writers Festival may also cancel or suspend this competition if an event beyond the control of Byron Writers Festival corrupts or affects the administration of security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition. Byron Writers Festival will also disqualify any individual who has tampered with the entry process or any other aspect of this competition. Byron Writers Festival and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable or responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems of the phone or of any phone network. Byron Writers Festival reserves the right to rejudge in the event of an entrant, claiming to be a winner, being unable to satisfy these Conditions of Entry. Byron Writers Festival’s decision in relation to any aspect of the giveaway is final and binding on each person who enters. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. Byron Writers Festival and their associated agencies, and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for unclaimed prizes.

Terms & Conditions of Ticket Sales and Entry
This ticket is sold by Byron Writers Festival (ABN 94 163 348 616) (The Festival) who is responsible for the Event. The following conditions are both of sale, entry and attendance at the Event.
The Festival may amend the program of the Festival at any time without notice, unavoidable program changes will be advised on site
Once purchased, tickets will not be refunded or exchanged, and lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced.
If, due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Festival, such as an act of God (including adverse weather conditions), an act of terrorism, or other security issue, it may be necessary to cancel some or all of the Festival program, the Festival may do so and, unfortunately, no refund will be given.
No bottled water is sold onsite a complimentary water refilling station is available please BYO vessel or buy one from us.
Participation in the Festival and entry to the Festival site and the Festival Car Park is at your own risk. To the maximum extent at law, you release the Festival its Directors, employees, subcontractors and agents from any liability whatsoever arising, however caused by your attendance at the Festival.
No commercial activity may be conducted, and no written material or goods of any description handed out or otherwise distributed, at the Festival site without the express permission of the Festival.
No photograph or audio or video recording may be taken at the Festival site, other than for private non-commercial purposes, without the express permission of the Festival.
The Festival may refuse admission to the Festival site, and eject from the Festival site, any person whose behaviour is inappropriate or a threat to public safety.
You must bring your ticket for entry to the Festival site and you must wear your pass throughout the period you are at the Festival site. Please note that your 3 day wristband is non removable /non transferable once issued.
You must bring proof of eligibility for concession tickets to the Festival site and the Festival may refuse entry if this is not provided upon request. Children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult while on the Festival site.
The Festival reserves the right to examine and search all bags (including handbags), parcels and packages which are brought, or proposed to be brought, onto the Festival site, and to effect such other security measures as are reasonably necessary to protect the Festival site.
The Festival may amend or vary these terms and conditions at any time and that amendment will take effect from the time the amended terms and conditions are placed on the Festival website (www.byronwritersfestival.com).
