Journaling – a Key for Successful Writing With Vicki Bennett
Have you found your own clear voice? Step into the world of journaling and find a safe way to get to know yourself more deeply, uncover layers of thinking and feeling and access insights, clarity and strength.
Learn when, how and what journaling can be for you in this half-day workshop aimed at writers of all levels and genres as well as those interested in using journaling as a creative tool.
Many successful writers use journaling as a doorway to access their creative spirit. Daily writing can help make sense of thoughts and emotions that otherwise may go untethered. It also helps the mind with linkages, making valuable connections between thoughts and ideas. Writing about thoughts and emotions somehow brings them into the light, into clarity. If creativity is the process of making these connections and solving problems, then journaling is a way to allow ideas to flow unhindered every day.
Collecting and synthesizing ideas is of the essence for the writer, accessing them and fleshing them out is crucial. Journaling creates a space to be present with your thoughts, bearing witness to your experience, fully inhabiting your inner life; a gateway to engage curiosity and free thinking.
Having your own clear voice is essential for writing; journaling provides a safe way to get to know yourself more deeply, uncovering layers of thinking and feeling. It’s in the rabbit holes of thought where access to insights, clarity and strength occur. Journaling is a tool for self-reflection, self-care and a vehicle for gratitude.
A writer’s spirit is vulnerable, a blaze of glory, tender, a flash of anger and also yielding. Journaling is a key that nurtures this indomitable creative spirit.
Participants will walk away with an understanding of when, how and what journaling can be for them. You will learn about the many different types of journaling and methods used by writers and creatives to access their creative ability and start practising your own style of journaling.
