Tall Tales & True: Inspiring Creativity in Students
Byron Writers Festival is thrilled to present two special full-day workshops, one for primary and one for secondary teachers, on inspiring creativity in students. Fuel your creative fire while learning how to ignite it in your students.
The Tall Tales and True workshops are designed to show teachers how to engage both reluctant and excited students, and how to effectively teach creative writing and embed creativity as a core principle in the classroom. With an introductory presentation by workshop host Siboney Duff on the science of creativity and the benefits of the creative classroom, as well as guest presentations by authors Zanni Louise (Primary) and Sarah Armstrong (Secondary) and a Southern Cross University guest creative writing lecturer, the workshop will be, at once, informative and enjoyable.
Completing this course will contribute 6 hours of PD addressing Standards 2.1.2, 2.5.2, 3.1.2, 3.3.2, 5.2.2 of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
This event is catered. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided for all attendees.
