Russell Eldridge is a founding member of the Byron Writers Festival. He is a former newspaper editor and award-winning journalist who has worked in South Africa and Australia.
Russell currently serves as secretary of the Festival board. Russell’s debut novel, Harry Mac, was published in 2015 by Allen & Unwin. The novel won the Varuna Litlink Unpublished Manuscript award. He has also written short stories and poetry. Russell has for many years been a moderator of author panel discussions at Byron Writers Festival and the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival. He has written and performed stand-up comedy for the trio Top Blokes and has also acted on the stage in Sydney and Northern NSW. When he’s not writing, Russell conducts media training, and is available as a writing mentor through the Byron Writers Festival.
