Zoe Pollock is a senior arts and cultural sector leader with more than 15 years experience in creative programming, strategic organisational development and audience engagement. Zoe is passionate about creating positive change through collaboration and effective relationships. Prior to joining the Byron Writers Festival, Zoe was CEO & Artistic Director of the Brisbane Writers Festival. She also lead development and fundraising at the Australian Museum and Sydney Living Museums and was Executive Director of the History Council of NSW.
A key aspect of Zoe’s work is in creating exciting, innovative and relevant ways to connect audiences with big ideas. Her artistic achievements include: Angel’s Palace, an immersive literary experience of Alexis Wright’s Carpentaria, first presented at the Brisbane Writers Festival in 2017; Nora’s Corner, a stunning installation inspired by the novel Tirra Lirra By the River; and The Artists’ Ball – an artistic recreation of an iconic, yet forgotten Sydney event.
