Book a one-on-one session with publishing agent Alex Adsett at the 2016 Byron Writers Festival.

When: Friday 5 August 2016 from 9am (30 minute sessions)
Where: Lone Goat Gallery, inside the Byron Library, Middleton Street
Cost: $85 members $95 non-members (plus booking and credit card fees)
Closing date: All application materials must be received by 2pm, Thursday, 21 July, 2016

How to apply

Applicants must complete the following two steps:

  1. Register and pay your application fee via Eventbrite
  2. Email your manuscript and query letter to [email protected]

Application guidelines

Please ensure your manuscript and query letter meet the following:

  • Typed, 12 point and double spaced 20 page sample of your work
  • Preferably continuous and from the beginning of your manuscript
  • Query letter with synopsis and your bio. No longer than one page

About the agent

Alex Adsett is a literary agent specialising in commercial fiction, as well as a freelance publishing consultant offering commercial contract advice to authors and publishers. She has more than eighteen years experience working in the publishing and bookselling industry and has managed Alex Adsett Publishing Services since 2008.

As a consultant, Alex helps authors and publishers negotiate publishing contracts in line with industry standards. As a literary agent, she is focused on finding exceptional manuscripts for adults, young adults, and children, including romance, science fiction, fantasy, crime and mystery.

Alex represents a select stable of authors including Maria Lewis, Gary Kemble, Nicholas J Johnson, Alan Baxter, Shannon Horsfall, and Kylie Chan. She is often to be found on twitter at @alexadsett or via her website www.alexadsett.com.au.
