This one-day workshop with essayist, memoirist and dramatist Ailsa Piper will focus on sharpening and developing your non-fiction persona. The workshop will explore:
– locating the appropriate voice and tone
– choice of form
– dramatising and enlivening abstract concepts
– refreshing the writing eye.
Participants should be ready to observe, write and offer feedback. An essay to read and discuss will be sent in the week prior to the workshop. This workshop is also useful for those writing fiction in the “I” voice. The day will be heavy on participation and engagement!
Ailsa Piper is a triple threat – writer, performer and director. Her books – Sinning Across Spain and The Attachment – navigate life’s small moments and big questions.
