Gabrielle Chan is Rural Editor of Guardian Australia’s Rural Network. She has covered politics and rural affairs across News Ltd, the ABC and Guardian Australia, with essays in Meanjin and Griffith Review among others. Gabrielle moved from the city to a sheep and wheat farm in 1996 and noticed the gap between parliament and small town life.

Gabrielle’s latest book, Why You Should Give a F**k About Farming, examines how farm- ers find themselves at the intersection of the world’s existential threats including climate change, geopolitical tensions, soil loss, water short- ages and food security and why every eater has a stake in their future.
