A 30-minute, face-to-face editorial consultation can help you understand what is working well in your manuscript, and what may need further development in order to capture the curiosity and attention of a publisher/agent or general reader. Feedback is given on the first 4000 words of the manuscript and your synopsis, and the session provides an opportunity to discuss any questions you may have and to tease out the direction your work might take.
Please email one document with the following material by Monday 27 August:
a one-page synopsis
the first 4000 words
a brief writing CV
Your document must be formatted to industry standards, as follows:
Line spacing: 1.5 or double
Font: Times New Roman
Size: 12 pt
Margins: minimum 3 cm all round (Word default margins are fine)
Paragraphing: indent all paragraphs except the first paragraph of a new chapter or section. Only put spaces between paragraphs where you wish to indicate a section break.
Text should be range left (which means the right edge is ‘ragged’), not justified.
Page numbers: consecutive from beginning to end
Please note, if your material is not submitted by the 27 August, we cannot guarantee your assessor will have time to review them before your appointment.
