Rigour: Creative Thinking and Curing Writer’s block with M.E. Baird
This workshop is split up into a morning lecture and an afternoon workshop. Participants can attend the lecture only if desired, but the facilitator advises it would be best to attend both sessions to gain a fuller and more integrated understanding of the topic.
It has been claimed that those who are able to think creatively will be best equipped to problem solve and innovate into the future. However, we also live in a new paradigm of technology, relentless digital noise, and device dependence. The overreliance on these technologies and devices has now been proven to inhibit our ability to think intuitively. Therefore, now more than ever we need powerful and simple tools to maintain and increase our ability to think at a level that goes beyond the surface. To go deeper in our thinking has been and still is paramount to our survival as a society.
‘Rigour’ is designed not only for creatives but for anyone wanting to know how to think clearer, deeper and more creatively.
Morning Session (lecture):
What is creativity?
What is an idea?
Afternoon Session (workshop):
‘Ideation’ – Seven stages in the production of ideas
‘Creative Blockage’ – Why it happens, how it happens and how to overcome it.
