Our mentorship programs are available for members seeking assistance and feedback from an experienced professional in the development of their written work.
The Residential Mentorship is Byron Writers Festival’s flagship development program for emerging writers. The group mentorship program offers four members the opportunity to spend five days in residence with an established writer to develop your work. Applicants must reside in the Northern Rivers and have a well-developed manuscript. The residency takes place in the Byron Shire in November.
Each year, members are invited to apply for one of four Mentoring Scholarships. Recipients receive a free Firsthand Feedback session with a professional author/mentor, based on a 5000-word excerpt of their work. Feedback sessions are 2-hours including the mentor’s reading time, and provide an initial appraisal of one’s work from an industry professional.
Applications for both The Residential Mentorship and Mentoring Scholarships open in September.
We offer two paid mentorship schemes that match members with a professional mentor; ‘Firsthand Feedback’ and ‘Block Mentorships’. MORE DETAILS
